MICHAEL SALCOR

JUNIOR Communications ANALYST

Michael's role as Junior Communications Analyst includes planning and implementing BCtA’s communication strategies, co-organizing the BCtA Annual Forum, and coordinating for and writing the initiative’s newsletters, and midyear and annual reports. He also supports BCtA’s communication with its member companies.

Prior to this role, Michael was with the World Health Organization (WHO), supporting its communications team in the Western Pacific Region, and has been a part of WHO’s Information Products and Services Office, where he supported projects on publication, multimedia, and language services.

Earlier in his career, Michael provided media consultancy services in the Philippines to MSMEs and multinational companies.

Currently, he is taking a Master’s degree in Political Ideas in a Digital Age (Digital Humanities) from the CY Cergy Paris Université in Paris, France. He holds a first Master's degree in Media Studies, with specialization in broadcast media, and a Bachelor's degree in European Languages, with specialization in French and Speech Communication, both from the University of the Philippines.

His first master’s dissertation on media and broadcast history obtained distinction from the University of the Philippines’ College of Mass Communication in 2021, and has been a fourth-place awardee of the Loretta Makasiar Sicat Awards for the Social Sciences, one of the Philippine's most prestigious award-giving bodies in the field of social science, in 2022.

 He fluently speaks French, on top of his native Tagalog and English.
