Ericsson, through its Business Call to Action initiative, is working to expand mobile coverage for up to 500,000 of sub-Saharan Africa's poorest citizens and to innovate new mobile applications for low-income communities worldwide. The networking company is working in collaboration with local mobile operators to extend mobile communications services to 12 Millennium Village clusters in 10 countries across Africa. In addition, Ericsson is working to develop mobile applications tailored to the needs of the rural poor.
