The Impact Goal

Supporting clients globally in conflict-affected countries, CTG joined Business Call to Action in December 2020 and made a commitment to provide decent work opportunities to 5,000 nationals from the countries where it operates with 25 percent of CTG’s project-related roles represented by women by 2025.

The Market Gap

Many fragile and conflict-affected countries have exceptionally high unemployment rates, with access to formal and fairly paid decent work opportunities being extremely limited for the majority of citizens. In that respect, a large proportion of the populations that reside within these environments typically fall under the category of low-income.

The Business Solution

As an organization specializing in recruitment and HR management services for its clients in these environments, CTG engages the base of the economic pyramid by employing individuals who would otherwise be unemployed with no income, or informally employed with an income below or just above USD 10 per day. Over 90% of CTG staff are host country nationals from the conflict-affected countries where CTG operates, and this means the majority of CTG’s revenue is channeled into their salaries. This has a positive ripple effect by dispersing into local economies and thus makes significant contributions to local development.

CTG’s Female First initiative encourages its recruiters, in-country teams, and clients to balance the gender scales by improving women’s access to decent employment opportunities within the humanitarian and development sectors.
