ABOUT THE FORUM

Anchored on the power of collaboration, the 12th Business Call to Action Annual Forum shines spotlight on the potential of innovative public-private collaboration. With the theme “The Power of Collaboration: Unlocking the Potential of Innovative Public-Private Partnerships for Sustainable Development,” the annual forum will showcase integrated solutions that connect the dots and effectively engage public and private actors to drive systemic change.

This year, we will feature four sessions based on the four pillars of innovation-through-replication, inclusive procurement, impact measurement and management, and effective private sector engagement for development co-operation, taking place virtually over two days, 21st and 22nd September.

BACKGROUND

Considerable progress towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda have been made over the last years. Nonetheless, the effects of COVID-19 and the humanitarian crisis posed substantial challenges and setbacks to this process. Such circumstances can only be reverted through collective action and collaborative partnership for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given the ambition of the SDGs, no actor can solve this systemic challenge alone, especially when it comes to financing—this is where the strength in collaboration comes in. Leveraging the power of collaboration is critical to unlock the full potential of innovative public-private partnerships for sustainable development.

Collaboration is the starting point to address the systemic misalignment in the delivery of essential services and goods especially to underserved populations.

BCtA’s Annual Forum opens the space for dialogue and calls on business leaders, policymakers, experts, and development practitioners to assert their place at the nexus of inclusive and sustainable procurement and champion innovative public-private partnerships as a path towards stronger collaboration and more inclusive innovation.
